Recently, our parish in Pokotylivka had the opportunity to celebrate All Souls’ Day – a holiday established by the Church in honor of the Holy Spirit. This is a special day when we pray for God’s support and blessings during these difficult times.
On the Monday after the Trinity, we gathered for prayer and a small rite of consecration of water. It was an opportunity to ask the Lord the Holy Spirit to preserve us, give strength and healing to our soldiers and the entire people of Ukraine. Because now, more than ever, we need God’s protection and providence.
When they prayed for victory, for the speedy recovery of the wounded, for all those who are going through trials, a special unity and upliftment of spirit was felt. Because the Holy Spirit, having once descended on the apostles, can inspire us with courage, faith and hope even today.
