On 19.03, visitors at the Youth Center played a media literacy board game “Quest Constructor.” The obstacles were fakes, manipulative headlines, and “bot farms.”
The game format allowed discussion of media literacy without a “preachy” tone, which is especially important when working with teenagers.
Society is moving from simply knowing “what a fake is” to the practical ability to use verification tools (image search, source analysis).
Also, after the game “Quest Constructor,” a final media literacy session took place. Educational programs are becoming more flexible, adapting to new threats (AI-generated content, propaganda on TikTok). As a result, media literacy trainer Nataliia Pakhnina noted: “Media literacy is not a one-time course, but a ‘hygienic habit’ that must be maintained constantly.”
The events are held within the framework of the project “Skills of the Third Millennium,” implemented by the Municipal Institution Youth Center “High Hub” of the Vysokyi settlement council with the support of the Kharkiv Community Foundation “Toloka” within the project “Pulse of the Community,” funded by the Global Fund for Community Foundations.
