On September 26, at the Municipal Youth Center “High Hub” of the Vysochanska Village Council in the village of Vysokyi, a meeting was held with entrepreneur, volunteer, and community activist Viktoriia Belikova from the Vysochanska community. The event, titled “Lavender Paradise,” featured her story about her business Magic Fields — a magical lavender field in Pokotylivka, a little corner of Provence in the Kharkiv region.
This is a place where an incredible purple carpet of flowers spreads and the intoxicating, calming aroma of lavender fills the air.
The idea for the project was inspired by Viktoriia’s love of nature and her visit to Crimea in 2012, where she first saw lavender fields and decided to plant her own. She began growing lavender on her summer cottage plot, and later, in 2022–2023, as she shared, they managed to scale the project to a larger field thanks to a grant.
This amazing field is the result of Viktoriia Belikova’s dedication and inspiration. She cares for each plant with great love, putting her heart into creating this cozy corner with a gazebo and photo zones. Her initiative not only beautified Pokotylivka but also gave many people the opportunity to enjoy its beauty, take wonderful photos, and simply relax away from the city bustle.
Viktoriia also introduced attendees to products from the Lavender Field. Using the harvested lavender, she creates wonderful items that allow people to take a piece of this magic home. The assortment usually includes:
- Dried bouquets and sachets
- Lavender essential oil: an indispensable product for aromatherapy, massage, skincare, and haircare
- Hydrolat (lavender water): visitors could witness its production firsthand through the distillation process demonstrated by Viktoriia on her equipment — resulting in a wonderful toner for face and body, which the participants immediately tried
In addition to various lavender-based skincare products, there were also:
- Lavender tea and sweets: for true gourmets and lovers of unique flavors
By the end of the event, the Youth Center was filled with the aroma of lavender and a sense of confidence in the development of private initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the community.
