On February 8, the High Hub Youth Center welcomed musicians from the band Urbanistan—Hlib Kovaliov and Dmytro Tretiak, who is also known as one of the hosts of Radio Khartia.
The guys are active servicemen of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Khartia,” so they received gifts from volunteer Lenchyk Desiushko—thermal insoles and gloves.
Today, young people attended the “Musical Boost” event and learned about the Freestyle genre—the art of rhyming words and delivering them to music. Participants explored the technique of rhymed recitative and the creation of verses in real time, without a pre-written script.
The winner of the rap battle was 18-year-old Dasha Anikonova:
“I love listening to rap. During the freestyle, I imagined myself as a rap artist and got so into the role that now I want to continue making music and performing on stage. Thanks to the Youth Center for the gift, and to the musicians for an amazing boost to our skills!”
