The NGO “Veterans’ Wives” continues to work within the framework of an experimental project to implement a contractual form of providing social support services to servicemen and their families in accordance with CMU Resolution No. 1050 https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/go/1050-2023-%D0%BF
On April 7–8, the Veterans’ Wives team attended a practical supervision seminar on the topic: “Providing social support services to war veterans, their families, including those affected by explosive devices” with the aim of discussing practical cases and changes in the legislation of Ukraine. The event was attended by the initiators of the experimental project — the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the National Social Service of Ukraine.
We discussed many issues faced by servicemen, veterans, and their families. These included simplifying the mechanism for obtaining combatant status, the work of social support specialists in hospitals and military medical centers, prosthetics and rehabilitation programs for Defenders, and much more.
Such meetings are extremely necessary because sometimes issues arise that are very difficult to resolve alone, and the experience of colleagues can inspire new ideas and effective solutions. Direct communication with specialists from the aforementioned structures allows our team to provide services quickly and efficiently and help the families of Defenders.
