What Are Ukraine’s Major Cities Preparing For?
Volunteers from the Humanitarian Hub “East-West” took part in the Evening with Radio NV in Kharkiv—a discussion event involving local authorities, businesses, civil society, and media representatives.
The meeting was moderated by Oleksii Tarasov, editor-in-chief of Radio NV.
Speakers included:
- Oleh Ivanov, Deputy Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration
- Oleksandr Chumak, President of the “Association of Private Employers”
- Maryna Nikolaieva, board member of NGO “Smart Media”
- Serhiy Zhadan, writer, volunteer, and public figure
- Svitlana Horbunova-Ruban, Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv
The discussion covered many topics concerning the current situation and the future of Kharkiv and the region.
Our volunteers raised the issue of differentiating air-raid alerts for Kharkiv and its surroundings. Oleh Ivanov noted that this matter had been submitted for consideration but emphasized that responsibility for such decisions rests with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.
We look forward to future decisions that will allow for the differentiation of alerts.
