Why I Don’t Stop: Reflections of the Lyubotyn SOS Leader on Supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Чому я не зупиняюся: роздуми керівника Люботин SOS про підтримку ЗСУ

WHY do I, as the leader of the Volunteer Assistance Center “Lyubotyn SOS,” continue to support the men and women of the Armed Forces of Ukraine despite all the circumstances and moral exhaustion?

How could I do otherwise? Should I just accept things as they are, like 60-70% of our civilian citizens, especially in 2024? This passivity is evident in all volunteer groups, but… people don’t even leave a like or words of support, let alone donate 10-20 UAH for the needs of the Armed Forces — which is less than the cost of a loaf of bread. What’s wrong, people? Why does it hurt for me and some others to see Ukraine in pain, while for most, it no longer does?

Maybe it’s because, like all active volunteers, I receive messages, calls, and videos that keep me from sleeping. The soldiers don’t have enough from their own salaries to buy spare parts, repair vehicles, or get what they need to save their lives — which means saving yours as well.

And how do you sleep at night? Share your thoughts or advice.
