“You were not expected here”: High Hub Youth Center held a game on the topic of prejudices and stereotypes, – NGO “Association of Youth Leaders of Ukraine”

"Вас тут не чекали": Молодіжний центр High Hub провів гру на тему упереджень та стереотипів, - ГО “Асоціація молодіжних лідерів України”

The live action game “You were not expected here” took place on 23.05 in the High Hub Youth Center in the village of Babai

Young people were asked to form their teams to implement a conditional “project” in accordance with the “shortcuts” that the presenter distributed to all participants.

And after the formation of the teams, the participants were offered

discuss the principles by which the teams were created. Young people pondered the question of why we sometimes perceive other people through the prism of other people’s prejudices and stereotypes. The discussion went far beyond the discussion of the selection of team members.

Here are the opinions expressed by our visitors:

Kira, 16 years old: “Today I had a negative characteristic of Aggressive, because of which I could not get into any of the teams. Unfortunately, this situation reminded me of a real story from my life, when people turned away from me because of false negative information about me “

Eva, 16 years old “Personally, I had a positive characteristic and I had no problems with being accepted into the team, but I believe that we should not take on faith any characteristics of a person given by others and understand everything, including critical thinking.”

The second activity was a training on the VRVS manual “Listening in triangles”, in which the participants practiced the skills of active listening and feedback

The project is implemented by the public organization Association of Youth Leaders of Ukraine and the public organization NGO Youth Platform NGO “Youth Platform” within the framework of the USAID Ukraine – USAID Ukraine Dream and Act program, which is implemented by IREX in Ukraine
