Today, a series of educational training sessions for employees aimed at developing professional competencies in working with people with disabilities began at the Kharkiv Regional Employment Center. Specialists from the first group were the first to join the training. The sessions are being conducted by the Coordination Humanitarian Center.
During the training, participants discussed appropriate terminology, principles of respectful and comfortable communication with people with disabilities, and analyzed practical situations that may arise in everyday work.
Special attention was given to overcoming barriers — understanding that disability is determined not only by a person’s condition, but also by the environment and conditions in which they live.
Participants also learned the basics of safe assistance, social protection, and providing help without violating personal boundaries.
The training took place in a warm and open atmosphere, becoming not only useful but also inspiring for the participants. Such programs help employment service specialists better understand people’s needs, build high-quality communication, and create an accessible and friendly environment for every client.
Together, we are building a barrier-free service environment.
