A Kharkiv Resident Expanded Production Thanks to a State Grant
Andrii Schetynskyi has been producing chairs and other wooden products for five years. His enterprise covers the full production cycle: sourcing raw materials, wood processing, painting, assembly, packaging, shipping, and coordination with suppliers and customers. Previously, the company focused on two chair models that had consistent demand.
Since the full-scale war began, the facility housing the production was destroyed. From November 2022, Andrii had to start from scratch, renting a new space in another area of Kharkiv, purchasing the essential tools and equipment, and finding new raw material suppliers.
During this period, he managed to restore orders from regular dealers and attract new clients, introducing a new product line. As order volumes grew, he needed additional, more productive equipment and more workers.
Learning about the “Own Business” program, Andrii decided to apply for a state grant and succeeded, receiving financial assistance of 250,000 UAH. With these funds, he purchased planing, sanding, and belt-sanding machines, an aspiration unit, and a compressor. This equipment allowed him to increase production capacity, boosting the business. As per the grant conditions, he has already hired one employee and plans to employ another soon.
