The Path to a New Life: a veteran from Sakhnovshchyna joined the “Recovery Army”
Currently, all our veterans need support and assistance in reintegrating into civilian life. The State Employment Service offers a wide range of mechanisms to provide such support — from psychological assistance to support in vocational training, employment, and starting a business.
Viktor Malyi applied to the Sakhnovshchyna Department of the Berestyn branch of the Kharkiv Regional Employment Center. At just 27 years old, this young man learned firsthand what war means. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he stood up to defend Ukraine. During combat missions, he suffered severe injuries and lost both legs.
However, strength of spirit, the desire to live, and an active life position helped Viktor return to civilian life. Today, despite having a Group I disability as a result of the war and veteran status, he continues to actively support our defenders.
Viktor dreams of starting his own business and plans to open a car service station. Employment Service specialists provided him with detailed consultations on opportunities for starting a business and state support for entrepreneurial initiatives.
For now, while considering the next step in his professional development, Viktor joined socially useful work within the “Recovery Army” program. These activities are aimed at supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ensuring the functioning of the economy, and maintaining community life.
At present, Viktor has temporary employment and performs his duties conscientiously and responsibly. Despite life’s circumstances, he remains optimistic and enthusiastically helps the families of military personnel: delivering humanitarian aid, participating in making camouflage nets and trench candles for the needs of Ukrainian defenders.
With his strength of spirit, hard work, and dedication, Viktor is a true example of courage, resilience, and determination for the residents of the Sakhnovshchyna community. Thanks to participation in socially useful work, he has gained not only temporary employment but also the opportunity to feel valuable, help others, and make his contribution to the shared cause of bringing Victory closer.
