An important stage is starting in Ukraine for the State Employment Service, aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and further bringing our approaches closer to European standards in the field of employment policy.
We are beginning participation in PES Benchlearning — a European methodology for evaluating and developing employment services. This is a strategic step for our integration into the European Network of Public Employment Services (EU PES Network).
Why is this important for us?
We are aligning our approaches with the best European standards and practices so that state employment policy in Ukraine becomes as user-friendly as possible and responsive to the needs of every client.
In 2026, we will go through the process from internal self-assessment to visits by European experts and colleagues.
We will compare our results with the assessments of European partners in order to identify areas for growth and aspects that need to be strengthened.
The project to support the capacity of the State Employment Service is implemented with the participation of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine within the PES Benchlearning initiative, with the assistance of the Government of Germany and the support of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, GIZ Ukraine Sustainable Economic Development, and the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO),
within the framework of the project “REYOIN — Promoting the socio-economic integration of Ukrainians returning from abroad, internally displaced persons, and the population of host communities in Ukraine.”
