Board game club meetings continue at the High Hub Youth Center; on 19.03 the theme was: The Magic of the Mind and the Art of Disguise.
This time, our space turned into a real training ground for intellect and endurance. We tried two completely different in dynamics but equally exciting board games: “Cortex Challenge: Harry Potter” and “Spies.”
Cortex Challenge: Harry Potter
This game made the brain work at full capacity! Participants immersed themselves in the world of magic, where instead of wands, the main weapons were reaction speed and logic. The most emotional moments were the tactile tasks, where by touch you had to recognize the Golden Snitch or Hedwig the owl.
If “Cortex” is about speed of thinking, then “Spies” is about psychology, deduction, and the ability to keep a “poker face.”
Players found themselves in different locations (for example, in a children’s summer camp or a theater), but one of them was a spy who did not know where they were. The goal of the spy was to figure out the location, while the goal of the others was to expose the agent using tricky questions.
The game became a real master class in communication and critical analysis. Participants learned to ask questions in such a way that “their own” would understand, but the enemy would not guess.
We are waiting for young people at our board game evenings on Wednesdays at the Youth Center!
The events are held within the framework of the project “Skills of the Third Millennium,” implemented by the Municipal Institution Youth Center “High Hub” of the Vysokyi settlement council with the support of the Kharkiv Community Foundation “Toloka” within the project “Pulse of the Community,” funded by the Global Fund for Community Foundations (GFCF).
