In every home we enter in the Kharkiv region, we see the same picture: medicine on the table, and quiet hope in the eyes. Many people think that social assistance solves everything. But the truth is painful: a social worker can go for groceries, but they cannot buy them if the person has no money.
After paying bills, our elderly people are often left with a choice: buy heart medication or bread. And this is a choice that should not exist in the civilized world. Our volunteer packages are not just food. They are an opportunity for a grandmother or grandfather not to go hungry in order to afford their medicine.
