Sometimes the real home front looks completely different from what we imagine. It’s not loud words or grand scenes. It’s a room where women from Kharkiv quietly sit at tables, cutting fabric into strips and weaving them into camouflage nets for hours. Nearby lie finished “mavkas” – the very camouflage suits that help our defenders remain unseen on their positions. The work is meticulous, sometimes hard on the hands, but they keep going. Because they know that somewhere on the front line, this net could save a life.
These women come after work, between household chores, sometimes simply because they cannot sit idle. Some have a husband or son at war, some have friends, and some just feel it’s their way to be useful. And you know, there’s something very powerful in this. Like small pieces of fabric gradually forming a large protection for our military.
But to weave nets and “mavkas,” materials are needed – fabric and netting base. And it’s always running out, because requests from the military are many.
That’s why we ask you to support our Kharkiv women with a donation, card number: 5363 5420 9666 8356, Natalia Kravchenko. Even a small contribution will help purchase fabric and bases for new camouflage nets. That means another position will be better concealed, and another defender will have a better chance to stay safe.
