This week, our volunteers joined an extremely important and necessary cause — they helped two families leave the front-line village of the Vilkhuvat community to safety.
Dmytro Bereshev and Oleksandr Yalovol together with the crew consisting of Alyon Goncharov and Vladimir Prima, with the support of the “Rose on the Hand” search team, went to the northeast of the region.
Destroyed bridges, mutilated villages and the city of Vovchansk, destroyed schools, monuments… In the village where people were taken away, communication was completely absent. In the center, the school and administrative buildings were destroyed by the KAB three days before our trip. On the way to the house, our volunteers encountered artillery fire from a neighboring village.
The blind, barely walking grandmother, her daughter and son-in-law are also already retired. The whole life of two families fit into two beads. People had to leave their homes in the hope of returning after the victory.
It is extremely important that civilians are evacuated from such places. Our defenders are in place, holding the border. And it is easier for them to work when there are no civilians on the contact line and in the immediate vicinity of the border.
