💖 Family Psychotherapy for Veterans: How to Understand Real Needs and Expectations in Relationships, – NGO “Veterans’ Wives”

💖 Сімейна Психотерапія для Ветеранів: Як Зрозуміти Справжні Потреби та Очікування у Стосунках, - ГО “Дружини ветеранів”

Partnership — the art of listening and being present

As part of the project for psychological support of veterans and their families, the NGO “Veterans’ Wives” organized another important training — “Creating the Image of the Ideal Partner as a Method of Family Psychotherapy.”

During the session, participants worked with the concept of an “ideal partner” — not as an imaginary perfection, but as an opportunity to better understand themselves, their expectations, and their real needs in relationships. Through symbolic exercises and group discussions, veterans and their family members discovered new ways to rebuild trust, warmth, and mutual understanding.

“Such trainings are not just conversations about relationships. They are opportunities to truly hear each other, to find common ground after all the challenges brought by the war. For our families, this is a path toward harmony and a new quality of communication,” said the head of the organization, Olha Lekhan.

The NGO continues to create a supportive space where veterans and their loved ones can strengthen emotional bonds, restore inner balance, and learn to be truly present for each other.

The project is implemented with the support of the KSE Foundation — the charitable foundation of the Kyiv School of Economics.
