📚 Today, on May 11, visitors of the Youth Center High Hub met with Volodymyr Birychak – a well-known historian, journalist, screenwriter, deputy editor of the publication “Historical Truth,” and head of academic programs at the Center for Research of the Liberation Movement.
🪖 He is currently serving as a soldier in the 13th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Khartia.”
🧬 All his ancestors were fighters in the liberation struggle. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, his turn came to fight for the freedom and independence of our state.
🇺🇦 At the meeting, the discussion focused on significant figures in the formation and struggle for Ukrainian statehood: Mykola Mikhnovskyi, Symon Petliura, and Yevhen Konovalets. And on the dates that truly need to be commemorated in May: May 8 — Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, and May 23 — Heroes’ Day, in memory of the past and present Knights who gave their lives for a free, independent Ukraine.
🗣️ Tymofii, 16 years old: “A very interesting lecture that revealed fascinating and unknown pages of our history that need to be known and honored.”
