Our activists abroad supported a rally in solidarity with Ukrainian prisoners of war
Recently, as part of the 34th International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent held in Geneva, Ukrainian families of prisoners of war organized a rally to draw attention to the severe violations of the rights of Ukrainian defenders. Although our delegation was not given the floor at the conference, the families did not give up. They gathered outside the UN to demand that the Red Cross fulfill its obligations — visiting places where Ukrainian prisoners are held and ensuring compliance with the Geneva Conventions.
Activists from the NGO “Veterans’ Wives,” including Nataliya Shevchenko, joined this rally. She shared her impressions: “It was crucial to support the families of prisoners who came from Ukraine. These are people who have gone through enormous trials, and they need to know they are not alone. We listened to their harrowing stories of captivity and the return of mutilated bodies, got to know them, talked, and cried together. Despite the cold and harsh conditions, we couldn’t leave the rally because this is our shared fight for justice.”
Additionally, our team continues to assist Ukrainians abroad who find themselves in difficult situations. We distribute humanitarian aid to those in need because it is essential to support not only the soldiers but also civilians.
Your help and support inspire us and give us the strength to continue fighting for our defenders, their families, and Ukraine.
