On 08.02, another event took place at the High Hub Youth Center — a group psychological consultation for children and adolescents on managing anxiety. It was aimed at developing emotional resilience and self-help skills under increased stress.
At the beginning of the session, participants were invited to draw on paper what made them anxious. They had the opportunity to discuss the content of their drawings, and then crumple, tear, or symbolically destroy them. This exercise helped the children understand that when we draw, write, or talk about our feelings, we regain a sense of control, and our anxiety level decreases.
The next activity was the “Positive Snow” exercise. Boys and girls wrote kind words and compliments on sticky notes, read them aloud, and then threw them up into the air — letting the notes “fall” like snow. Each participant took a note with a warm message to keep as a reminder.
At the end of the session, participants discussed with the psychologist what helps restore energy and improve mood, such as favorite activities, hobbies, and so on.
The events are part of the project “Skills of the Third Millennium,” implemented by the Municipal Institution Youth Center “HIGH HUB” of the Vysokyi Settlement Council with the support of the Kharkiv Community Foundation “Toloka,” within the project “Pulse of the Community,” funded by the Global Fund for Community Foundations.
