Kharkiv. Between darkness and the light of human hearts.
When the January cold rages outside, and homes lose electricity and the radiators go cold, time seems to stop. In this silence and darkness, every sound becomes louder, and every need sharper. We see it in the eyes of lonely elderly people wrapped in blankets, and in the eyes of mothers trying to keep their children warm. It is hard. It is painful. And it is our daily reality.
But we, the team of the NGO “Veterans’ Wives,” have no right to stop. Because where there is no electricity, there must be the light of human care. We continue to be there for the people of Kharkiv, despite all the challenges.
Right now, we are actively delivering the most essential items:
- Food, to give strength to keep going;
- Medicine, which saves lives under stressful conditions;
- Warm clothing, bringing at least a bit of comfort when the walls turn icy.
This extensive support for our city has been made possible thanks to the incredible people from Rememberus.org, namely Igor Korsunsky, Julia Preshman Korsunsky, and Oksana Bondar. We sincerely thank you for standing on this humanitarian front with us. Your help is not just things; it is hope that you give to everyone whose door we knock on.
Thank you for helping us keep Kharkiv warm in these extremely difficult times.
Together we will endure. Because the light inside us is stronger than any blackout.
With support GO “Wives of Veterans”
