Safe living during wartime: learning to recognize dangers together

In Kharkiv, an event was held for civilians and children, organized by the NGO “Veterans’ Squads” together with servicemen from the 43rd Separate Brigade.

The goal of the meeting was to teach city residents how to recognize types of mines and explosive devices, which, unfortunately, are increasingly found right on streets, yards, parks, and forest belts.

Adults and children learned which objects can pose a threat.

They saw models of mines, tripwires, and shells firsthand.

They became familiar with the action algorithm in case suspicious objects are found.

They received leaflets with instructions and emergency contact numbers.

Special attention was given to child safety — as children are the most vulnerable to disguised dangers. The event was held in an accessible format, with simple examples and a Q&A session.

We thank our defenders for their daily work not only on the frontlines but also in the rear — through education, explanation, and care for the safety of our communities.
