Recently, the team of the NGO “Veterans’ Squads” delivered food packages and medicine to residents of frontline Kharkiv. In a city that hears the echoes of war every day, supporting the civilian population is not just about assistance — it is a matter of survival.
One of the people we visited was Grandpa Petro Ivanovych. He is 84 and nearly blind. Six months ago, his wife, with whom he spent over 60 years, passed away. His only granddaughter lives in another city and rarely has the opportunity to visit.
Even going to the store is a challenge for him. He met us at the door, leaning on a cane. His hands trembled as he carefully touched the packages. Then he quietly said:
“I thought everyone had forgotten about me…”
These words are a reminder of why we do what we do.
Supporting people like him is not only about food or medicine. It is about hope. About the feeling that you are not alone.
We sincerely thank the RememberUs Foundation, Igor Korsunsky, Julia Preshman Korsunsky, and Oksana Bondar for their trust and constant support. Thanks to you, we can reach those who need help the most.
Kharkiv is strong. But even the strongest sometimes need support. And we are here.
With support GO “Wives of Veterans”
