SWELI: how a microgrant helped revive marmalade production
The company SWELI produces and supplies high-quality marmalade to both Ukrainian and international markets. It is a modern enterprise creating unique premium-class products with no analogues in Ukraine.
The main principles of production are: the use of only natural ingredients confirmed by certificates and test protocols; handwork and quality control at every stage; and a pectin base that is beneficial for digestion.
SWELI marmalade stands out not only for its taste but also visually: bright shapes and colors attract both children and adults, leaving pleasant impressions.
Before the war, production was based in the Izium district of Kharkiv region, but due to hostilities the equipment was destroyed. Some property was saved and transported to Kharkiv.
Thanks to participation in the #Own_Business program, company founder Samir Ismailov received a microgrant of 500,000 UAH. With this grant support, a semi-automatic line for bottling food liquids was purchased, which made it possible to:
- restore production capacity to pre-war levels;
- ensure stable supplies;
- automate processes and reduce the physical workload of employees;
- create jobs, particularly for women.
“For me, SWELI is not just a business but a lifelong mission. Thanks to state support, we restored production because we believe that even in the most difficult times, Ukraine must create a quality product it can be proud of in the world,” said Samir Ismailov.
Today, SWELI has not only resumed operations but also strengthened its market position, proving that quality and innovation open the way to expansion even under challenging conditions.
