On Saturday, June 6, the HIGH HUB Youth Center turned into a true chess kingdom.
Young intellectuals from Vysokyi, Pokotylivka, and Pivdenne gathered at the boards to test their thinking skills, composure, and ability to anticipate events several moves ahead.
The Open Chess Tournament for Children and Youth of the Vysochanska Community brought together both experienced players and students of the chess club that recently began operating at the Youth Center.
At the opening ceremony, First Deputy Head of the Settlement Council Ivan Mykhailychenko emphasized the importance of developing youth sports and the role of the Youth Center in bringing together young people in the community.
The chief referee of the competition was Volodymyr Zhukov, coach of the chess department of the Vysochanska Youth Sports School.
A special atmosphere filled the tournament: some players carefully analyzed positions, while others quickly found combinations. The boards saw beautiful tactical strikes, unexpected sacrifices, and tense endgames where the outcome depended on a single precise move.

All participants received certificates and souvenirs, while the winners added trophies, medals, and gifts from the HIGH HUB Youth Center to their collections.

True victories begin not with trophies, but with the first move made, the desire to learn, and the courage to sit down at the board against a strong opponent.
