On November 27, a creative meeting with writer and serviceman of the 2nd International Legion, Serhiy Demchuk, took place at the High Hub Youth Center of the Vysokopillya Village Council. The event began with a welcome speech by the center’s director, Nataliya Pakhina, who introduced the guest — the renowned writer and author of books such as The Target Ceased to Exist, Island Ja, and others, Serhiy Demchuk.
Serhiy Demchuk shared the story of his creative journey, talking about his sources of inspiration and ideas for his works: many are autobiographical, or he based his prose on stories told by close people.
Special attention was given to the presentation of his new book The Target Ceased to Exist and his poetry. The writer read his works, which sparked lively interest among the audience.
Serhiy’s comrade, also a fighter in the 2nd International Legion, writer, and journalist Alex Zakletsky, joined the presentation.
Together, all attendees discussed topics relevant today: whether a writer can live off royalties from their work, and whether artificial intelligence poses a threat to modern artists.
Participants actively joined the dialogue, asking the writers various questions. Serhiy Demchuk and Alex Zakletsky gave candid and meaningful answers, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
The meeting concluded with an autograph session and informal communication.
Everyone had the opportunity to purchase Serhiy Demchuk’s books, get autographs, and take photos together.
The informal interaction allowed participants to personally thank Serhiy Demchuk and Alex Zakletsky for an interesting and inspiring evening.
