Once again, our team from the NGO “Veterans’ Wives” set out to help the people of Kharkiv. We delivered food packages and essential supplies, but this trip will stay in our memories for a long time…
We visited a large family that had endured true hell. They managed to escape occupation, survive all the horrors of war, and, most importantly, keep their children safe. The Russians were already preparing to take them, to tear the children from their parents’ hands… Only by a miracle was the family able to escape and reach free territory.
Listening to their story, we couldn’t hold back our tears. In every word there was pain, fear, and at the same time incredible strength. They held on for the sake of their children, and now the children hold on for them.
We brought food and supplies, but most importantly—we brought the belief that they are not alone. And do you know what we heard in response? “The main thing is that we are all together and that we are home.”
It is moments like these that motivate us to work every day. Every such story is proof that Ukrainians are unbreakable. And as long as we support each other, we will endure.
We sincerely thank the Rememberus.org foundation and especially Igor Korsunsky, Julia Preshman Korsunsky, and Oksana Bondar for their ongoing support of the Kharkiv region and trust in our team. Without you, these happy children’s eyes and the tears of relief from their parents would not have been possible. Together, we are creating a future where every family can feel safe and warm.
