What is this intriguing game “Orange,” you may ask?
The secret of this game was revealed on October 5th at the High Hub Youth Center, where we shared an orange. It was the only one in the family, and it needed to be divided in a way that left all the participants satisfied.
This live-action game revolved around an important aspect of our communication—conflict resolution.
The orange was finally divided correctly by the winner of the game, Angelina, and the youth learned the following:
Yaroslav, 15 years old: “Each of us has our own strategy during a conflict, but not everyone knows how to resolve it properly. Today, I learned about the term ‘Consensus’ and how it differs from ‘Compromise.’ Now I’ll know how to conflict correctly.”
Yegor, 11 years old: “Today was a very interesting game. I learned about five strategies for dealing with conflicts, from ignoring to consensus. When we start talking about our needs, it becomes easier to reach an understanding.”
The project is being implemented by the NGO Youth Leaders Association of Ukraine and the NGO Youth Platform as part of the USAID Ukraine program “Dream and Act,” which is carried out by IREX in Ukraine.
