In Berestyn, at the initiative of the Kharkiv Regional Employment Service, a career guidance event for young people titled “Start to a Career: Professional Dialogue Between Youth and Employers with the Support of the Employment Service” took place. During the meeting, participants discussed extremely important topics — choosing a profession, first career steps, youth support, and opportunities for professional development in modern conditions.
Today, the employment service is not only about job searching. It is about supporting young people in professional self-determination, helping them gain new skills, start their own business, and confidently enter the labor market.
The event was held at two locations.
The first location brought together school students and graduates of educational institutions from the Berestyn community. During the discussions, special attention was paid to the relevance of vocational professions, which are currently in high demand on the labor market. Participants were introduced to the opportunities offered by the Kharkiv Center for Vocational Education of the State Employment Service, where they can acquire a new profession or improve their qualifications in 44 licensed vocational specialties. Local employers also presented their enterprises, spoke about staffing needs, and discussed employment prospects for young people.
The second location became a platform for open dialogue between senior school pupils and graduating students from educational institutions of the Berestyn district, employers, entrepreneurs, educators, and representatives of the authorities.
Participants discussed employment prospects for young people in today’s realities, current labor market needs, opportunities for professional realization in Ukraine, and the importance of cooperation between education, business, and the employment service.
Director of the Kharkiv Regional Employment Center Denys Oliinyk presented the “Own Business /grant/” program, particularly its youth-focused direction. He paid special attention to the field of creative industries, which is increasingly attracting young people and opening new opportunities for professional development and self-realization. He emphasized that today young people have real opportunities to start their own businesses, and the state is ready to support such initiatives.
Denys Oliinyk also spoke about the support program for employers who hire young people for their first job. According to him, this is an important tool for supporting young specialists who are just beginning their professional path and need their first practical experience.
“Today, young people need not only knowledge but also an understanding of their own opportunities and confidence in the future. Choosing a profession is one of the most important steps in life, and the employment service is ready to be a reliable partner for young people on this path: helping with career guidance, education, employment, or starting their own business,” Denys Oliinyk noted.
It is truly encouraging that young people actively participate in such meetings organized by the employment service, ask questions, show interest in opportunities, and consciously plan their professional future. Such activity and engagement are what shape a strong and promising generation.
The event took place with the participation of Deputy Head of the Berestyn District Military Administration Yana Litka, First Deputy Mayor Nataliia Shaptala, employers, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the educational sector.
