This summer, 100 residents of the Kharkiv region — children and their mothers — had the opportunity to take a break from daily worries, change their surroundings, and enjoy a short vacation in Lviv.
This opportunity became a reality thanks to a program implemented by the Polish organization Stowarzyszenie “Idziemy na Spacer” and the charitable platform Siepomaga.pl.
The participants of the project included families of military personnel and veterans, as well as families of defenders of Ukraine who are currently in captivity, missing in action, or have been killed while defending our country.
The first group has already returned home with vivid impressions and warm memories, while the second group continues to discover Lviv and its hospitality.
According to Anna Kuruch, co-founder of the NGO “Wives of Veterans” and a psychologist in the organization, such trips are especially important for families who have been living under constant stress and uncertainty for a long time.
“For many of our participants, this is an opportunity to be in a safe environment, take a break from daily worries, spend time with their children, and find support among people with similar life experiences. We see how children discover new places, enthusiastically take part in activities, while mothers get a chance to feel calm and regain strength, even if only for a short time,” Anna Kuruch shared.
The program in Lviv includes excursions, creative activities, visits to the opera house, bowling, horse riding, and rest in a picturesque mountain village in Horovechchyna, along with many other activities that help both children and adults spend their time in an interesting and meaningful way.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the implementation of this important project:
• Stowarzyszenie “Idziemy na Spacer” and personally Sławomir Jarosławski;
• the charitable platform Siepomaga.pl and CFO Piotr Parusz;
• project coordinator Halyna Tretyakova.
Thanks to your support, Ukrainian families feel care and solidarity. Such initiatives give children new experiences and adults the strength to move forward. Thank you for being by our side.
With support: GO “Wives of Veterans”
