Psychologists of the NGO “Wives of Veterans” team successfully conducted incredibly important training on the topic “Domestic violence: psychological prerequisites, help and countermeasures” for married couples of Defenders of Ukraine.
These two days were filled with emotions, support and formation of important skills. Our goal was not only to discuss the psychological aspects and prerequisites of domestic violence, but also to provide concrete tools for identifying and countering such situations in the families of our veterans. Conducting trainings on the prevention of domestic violence among families of veterans in Ukraine is of great importance, because quite often our veterans returning from the combat zone face the challenges of adapting to a peaceful life, have traumatic experiences, PTSD, which significantly increase the risk of aggressive behavior . The trainings help veterans and their families better understand and manage the changes in personal relationships caused by the war experience. Strengthening family ties is a key factor in psychological stability and social adaptation.
We are grateful to all participants for their openness and willingness to share personal experience and learn.
Special thanks to our psychologists, who not only shared their knowledge, but also created a safe environment for discussion and learning.
Let’s fight domestic violence together and build a safe future for our families. We remind you that support is always available and no one should have to face violence alone.
If you or someone you know needs help, contact the team of professionals of the Veterans’ Wives NGO for support.
Seven families took part in the training.
