How Not to Be Misled?
How to Counter the Onslaught of Fake News, Clickbait, Enemy Propaganda, Misleading Opinions, False News, and Hidden Advertising?
“On October 10, we gathered all topics related to media literacy and cyber hygiene and created a comprehensive lecture-training covering all possible types of misinformation – ‘Truth or Action,’ and the means to counter it,” share active participants of the training, Oksana Blagovestova, a media literacy trainer. As part of the grant program implemented by the High Hub Youth Center, our visitors created a presentation and conducted a training session on media literacy themselves.
During the networking session, we reinforced our skills in recognizing false information while enjoying friendly discussions on serious topics.
Timur, 11 years old, said, “I love media literacy classes because I spend a lot of time online, and the knowledge I gain here helps me avoid falling for scams and not believing any posts with sensational, emotional headlines.”
This project is implemented by the NGO “Association of Youth Leaders of Ukraine” and the NGO “Youth Platform” within the framework of the USAID Ukraine – USAID Ukraine We Dream and Act program executed by IREX in Ukraine.
