On 01.02, the Youth Center High Hub hosted a day of activities as part of the project “Skills of the Third Millennium.” First, young people watched a biographical film.
“Swiped” is a drama that explores the rapid and thorny path of Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of the Tinder platform and later the Bumble service, in Silicon Valley. The analysis of her career in the film can be divided into three key stages: emergence, crisis due to a toxic environment, and triumphant rebirth.
The film examines not only a success story, but also modern problems and prejudices (for example, the “glass ceiling” and sexism) that occur along the way even for creative and successful women.
Ways to overcome such obstacles were also discussed.
At the second event, involving psychological role-playing games, young people chose Bunker and Intuition.
The games “Bunker” and “Intuition” are powerful tools for developing soft skills. Although both are based on communication, each game focuses on different aspects of personality and professional competencies:
“Bunker” — argumentation, strategy, and creativity.
“Bunker” is a game about survival through negotiation. What matters here is not who you are, but how you “sell” yourself.
And the game Intuition focuses on reading non-verbal signals:
The game teaches paying attention to details that we usually ignore: microfacial expressions, barely noticeable changes in facial expressions.
Body language: gestures, closed postures or, on the contrary, excessive openness.
Paralinguistics: changes in voice timbre, speech speed, or accidental sighs.
Empathy and emotional intelligence.
Thus, the first day of February at the Youth Center was interesting and useful for young people.
The events are held within the framework of the project “Skills of the Third Millennium,” implemented by the Municipal Institution Youth Center “HI HUB” of the Vysochanska Settlement Council with the support of the Kharkiv Community Foundation “Toloka” within the project “Community Pulse,” funded by the Global Fund for Community Foundations.
