Today, for cadets of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine, the Educational and Scientific Institute for Personnel Work, a binary lesson was held with the participation of Olha Lekhan, head of the NGO “Wives of Veterans,” and Anna Kuruch.
During the session, key issues of social support for military personnel and their family members within the National Guard system were comprehensively examined. Special attention was given to the legal and regulatory foundations of social provision, mechanisms for implementing state and local support programs for defenders, as well as interagency cooperation in the field of social work.
The lesson had a clearly practice-oriented focus: theoretical principles were combined with the analysis of real cases, which helped cadets develop a holistic understanding of the social support system as a continuous process of assistance for service members and their families.
It is also worth noting that the issues raised are highly relevant for future personnel officers, as they are responsible for organizing social support within units, communicating with service members’ families, facilitating the implementation of social guarantees, and playing a key role in maintaining the moral and psychological well-being of personnel.
In the practical part, Olha Lekhan provided individual consultations to cadets who are combat veterans, particularly regarding the realization of their social rights, access to benefits, and support programs.
The session contributed to the development of cadets’ professional competencies in the field of social security and enhanced their readiness to effectively perform their official duties.
