Support for veterans and female veterans: Priority on mental health and family values!
Recently, a working meeting took place that brought together representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and leaders of veteran organizations. The key topic of discussion was a comprehensive approach to the return of our defenders to civilian life.
Key topics of the meeting:
- Psychosocial support: development of new mechanisms for adaptation of veterans and female veterans.
- Mental recovery: activities and training to strengthen the psychological resilience of our heroes and heroines.
- Reintegration through family: involvement of relatives in the rehabilitation process.
Direct speech
“Reintegration of veterans and female veterans begins with the family. It is extremely important to carry out psychosocial work not only with service members, but also with their families as a single ecosystem,” emphasized the Head of the NGO “Wives of Veterans,” Olha Lekhan.
Already now, within the Project HOPE initiative, the NGO “Wives of Veterans” provides mental support to the families of our Defenders, as was reported to colleagues. Joint work with international partners allows scaling up projects that have already proven their effectiveness.
Our goal is to create an environment where every veteran and female veteran feels supported at every stage of returning to civilian life.
We work together for a common future!
With support: GO “Wives of Veterans”
