Today, the team of the NGO “Veterans’ Wives” once again set out on a small but very important journey — we were delivering humanitarian aid to Kharkiv residents who found themselves in difficult life circumstances.
The stories that touched us most were those of lonely elderly people with the status of internally displaced persons. They left their homes, memories, belongings — everything familiar — to save their lives. Now their walls are temporary apartments or dormitories, and their greatest treasure is attention and human warmth.
We saw tears of gratitude in their eyes for a simple food package, for a few kind words, for the fact that someone remembers them. One grandmother said:
“I thought I was no longer needed… And then you came. This is a whole world for me.”
These words will resonate in our hearts for a long time. Because it is for moments like these that we work — to restore people’s faith, hope, and sense of dignity.
We sincerely thank the Rememberus.org Foundation, Igor Korsunsky, Julia Preshman Korsunsky, and Oksana Bondar for their support, trust, and the opportunity to help those who need it most. Thanks to you, we can not only deliver food packages but also offer care, humanity, and love.
Every trip is not just about delivering aid. It is a meeting with life that teaches us to appreciate the simple things: a smile, kindness, and support.
With support GO “Wives of Veterans”
