On June 23, 2022, on the feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles, the parish in honor of Reverend Agapit of the Pechersk Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the village of Pokotylivka celebrated its second anniversary since its foundation. This is a real celebration for our community!
Two years ago, in 2022, Archbishop Mitrofan of Kharkiv and Slobozhan consecrated the site for the construction of our church. Since then, the active community of the parish, led by the deputy of the village council, Mykola Blagovestov, began to build a small chapel. Even soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine joined in, perpetuating the memory of their fallen comrades.
Today we celebrate this important date together. The abbot of the temple, archpriest Leonid Korensky, led the festive liturgy. During the service, prayers were said for Ukraine and its victory. After the service, Father Leonid was congratulated on the 10th anniversary of his priestly service.
The holiday ended with a joint meal and consecration of potions. It was a truly wonderful day of unity, faith and thanksgiving for all that we have. May the Lord bless our Pokotyl parish for many summers!
