On January 15, at the High Hub Youth Center, two Living Library events were held featuring Volodymyr Skoryk, who is professionally a philologist and currently a serviceman of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard, Khartiya.
The first hour focused on Volodymyr’s pre-war life, covering the topic “Business in the Creative Industry.”
Volodymyr spoke about the specifics of building a career and business processes in creative fields, showcased video clips produced by his production studio, and explained the process of their creation.
Conclusion: The creative industry is not just about art; it must be a structured business with its own requirements and deadlines.
The second hour was titled “Military Writer.”
This part was dedicated to reflecting on wartime experiences through literature and discussing the role of veteran prose in shaping national memory.
In Volodymyr’s work, the text serves both as therapy and as a document that ensures important events of the war and comrades—both living and fallen—are not forgotten. The discussion addressed why it is important to record events “here and now” and how writing helps process traumatic experiences.
The result was a deep emotional dialogue that helped the audience better understand the author’s inner world and the value of contemporary war literature.
The events took place as part of the project “Skills of the Third Millennium,” implemented by the High Hub Youth Center of the Vysokyansk Settlement Council with the support of the Kharkiv Community Foundation “Toloka” within the “Community Pulse” project, funded by The Global Fund for Community Foundations (GFCF).
