On 11.01, two Media Literacy workshops were held at the High Hub Youth Center: “Life Online” and “SPZ Gang.” In the first one, young people discussed such important topics as privacy on social media, how to prevent becoming a victim of criminals or cyberbullying.
What should not be published (address, photos of tickets, documents).
About the Digital Footprint: Everything that gets on the internet stays there forever.
As well as how to act if you become a victim of online bullying (the rule “Stop — Block — Tell adults”).
The workshop “SPZ Gang” (“SPZ Gang” — Malicious Software).
It was a discussion of various types of viruses and threats that users face on the internet. Studying the “gang” helped young people remember the types of cyber threats more easily:
Viruses: Programs that “replicate” and damage files.
Trojan horses: Disguised as useful programs (games, utilities) but open access to hackers.
Worms: Spread independently through networks, overloading communication channels.
Spyware: Secretly collect your passwords, browsing history, and personal data.
Ransomware: Block the computer and demand money for unlocking it.
All of this will help our youth communicate safely on social networks, using their benefits (education, useful leisure) while avoiding dangers.
The events are held within the framework of the project “Skills of the Third Millennium,” implemented by the Municipal Institution Youth Center “High Hub” of the Vysochanska Settlement Council with the support of the Kharkiv Community Foundation “Toloka” within the project “Community Pulse,” funded by The Global Fund for Community Foundations (GFCF), The Global Fund.
