On November 30th, the High Hub Youth Center held a Gala party at the Palace of Culture and Arts in the village of Babai, where they presented the final report on the YOUNG&UNITED project. The project is being implemented by the Public Organization “Association of Youth Leaders of Ukraine” in collaboration with the NGOs “Youth Platform” and “Youth Platform” within the framework of the “Dream and Act” program, which is carried out by IREX in Ukraine with the support of USAID Ukraine. The Head of the Youth Center, during the final report, told the visitors that during the project, 342 events were held in 2024, involving 3,429 participants, 330 of whom were unique.
The activities were conducted in four areas:
- Psychosocial support
- Career counseling and job search
- Media literacy, cyber hygiene, combating cyberbullying
- Promoting tolerance, social equality, and social cohesion
The youth shared their thoughts on the center’s activities, recalled their first visit, and reflected on the significance of the Youth Center in the community’s youth life.
Volunteers and active visitors of the Youth Center received gifts. Here are a few quotes from the visitors:
Milan, 12 years old: “For me, the Youth Center became a place where I felt safe, participated in the social life of the community, and comfortably communicated with my friends. Because nothing replaces face-to-face communication.”
Roman, 15 years old: “I moved to the Vysoky community from Russkaya Lozovaya at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and the Youth Center became my support and a place where I found new friends in 2022. In 2024, I became a volunteer at the center. Participating in youth forums and educational visits to other communities like Zmiev, Poltava, and Ivano-Frankivsk made my year with the Youth Center so interesting and enriching.”
The Gala evening concluded with a festive cake from our regular partners, the “Frunze Kitchen Charity Fund – Being Good” – thanks to Olena Vasilenko, the head of the organization, for her consistent support of our center.
Even though the YOUNG&UNITED project has ended, the work at the Youth Center continues. Starting in December, new exciting activities and development opportunities await our visitors.
