On October 13, at the SmartCommunity OKC in Pokotilivka, our Youth Center High Hub held two events:
1) GROUP PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING “LIVING POSITIVELY”
2) PSYCHOLOGICAL GAME “SMILE AT ME”
During the psychological counseling, participants discussed various situations that evoke positive emotions in them, recalling and sharing interesting stories from their lives.
Liza, 14 years old: “For some reason, I find it funny when I clumsily bump into something or stumble and fall in a silly way. The psychologist told us that laughter can be a protective response of the body that helps us cope with stress and even reduce pain; I didn’t know that before.”
In the second session, the youth tried to learn through play how to identify different types of smiles that convey various emotions, from superiority and disgust to tenderness and delight.
Egor, 11 years old: “Today we took selfies and tried to recreate different types of smiles. Even though our team didn’t win, it was fun, and we learned a lot during this exercise.”
The project is implemented by the NGO “Association of Youth Leaders of Ukraine” and the NGO “Youth Platform” as part of the USAID Ukraine program – “Dream and Act,” carried out by IREX in Ukraine.
