Father’s memorial Saturday: parish of St. Agapita of Pechersky bathed for all our deceased fathers, brothers and sisters.
On March 9, 2024, a week before the beginning of Great Lent, the Church, as a loving mother, commemorates all of our deceased fathers, brothers and sisters. Parish in honor of Reverend Agapit of Pechersky village. The pokotilivka was performed by Parastas, during which the souls of the dead were remembered in prayer.
Also on this day, prayers were offered for the repose of the soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine; civilians who were killed during the Revolution of Dignity and who died innocently as a result of Russian aggression, as well as all those who were tortured by godless people, starved to death, died from the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, diseases and destructive pestilence – departed to eternity in faith and hope for resurrection. They asked in prayer to God that He would forgive their free and unfree sins and grant them eternal blissful life.
After the service, according to tradition, all those present at the prayer joined in the tea.
