Sunday morning in Kharkiv.
While the city was still waking up after an anxious night, the team of the NGO “Veterans’ Wives” set out into the courtyards and apartment buildings where those made especially vulnerable by the war live — the elderly, the lonely, those left without family or whose loved ones fled to safety.
We saw eyes filled with both gratitude and pain. Mrs. Halyna, 82 years old, met us at her door holding her old cat. She said she hadn’t gone outside in a long time — because she’s afraid of the sirens. “I thought everyone had forgotten about me,” she said, squeezing our hands. But no, we haven’t forgotten.
Each package of humanitarian aid is more than just food. It’s a piece of care, warmth, and faith that even in the darkest times of war, people remain human.
We sincerely thank the Rememberus.org foundation, Igor Korsunsky, Julia Preshman Korsunsky, and Oksana Bondar for their support, trust, and the opportunity to help those who need attention and kindness the most right now.
Together — we’re not just delivering aid. We’re restoring people’s sense that they are not alone.
