Today our center was filled with a special energy — the kind that arises when people with big hearts come together. It was a day when every glance, word, and hug reminded us: we are here for each other, we support one another, we hold the home front — together.
Our friends, soldiers from the 43rd Mechanized Brigade, veterans, families of defenders, friends, and partners visited us. We were especially glad to see the Head of the Veterans’ Council of Ukraine, Valentyn Kovalsky, as well as representatives of the Union of SOU Veterans.
Together, we honored the memory of those who are no longer with us and thanked those who are doing everything today so that we can live and help.
Ms. Olya Lekhan addressed the guests with very warm words — about volunteering, which long ago became not just a “job” but a calling of the heart. About people who don’t ask “when?” because they are always there. About the fact that our strength lies in love for Ukraine and support for each other.
We reflected on what this year has been like — difficult, but full of significant work:
• Over 500 food aid kits, over 300 hygiene kits distributed to people
• 85+ trips to soldiers and families
• 70+ psychological meetings
• Assistance to more than 600 people
• 400+ social consultations
• Thousands of items delivered, hundreds of children laughing again at our events
• And over 120 events at the Veterans’ Center — family-oriented, warm, and heartfelt
We proudly shared that this year our team became part of the international community Lions International, becoming the first women from Kharkiv in this large global family. This is a huge step forward and a sign that our work is important and recognized far beyond Ukraine.
Today we also thanked our volunteers — those who day after day create good with their own hands. There were many smiles, warm words, hugs, and gratitude.
The speeches by representatives of the 43rd Brigade, the Union of SOU Veterans, veterans, and families were especially touching — every word touched the soul.
After the official part, we stayed in a warm atmosphere — with tea, heart-to-heart conversations, and a feeling that we are all here for a reason.
This day once again proved: we are strong when we are together. We support each other when it hurts. We hold on when it’s hard. And we will never stop believing in our Victory.
With support GO “Wives of Veterans”
