🚨 Friends, disaster has struck… EVERYTHING IS DESTROYED.
Many volunteers and soldiers know that we’ve had our own office. Since 2014, it’s been the venue for Euromaidan coordination meetings and planning protests in Kharkiv, a place for educational trainings, then a humanitarian aid hub, and since 2022 – a safe space (as it’s a semi-basement) for frontline soldiers to rest, for parents visiting their wounded loved ones in the hospital, and most importantly — for REHABILITATION ACTIVITIES (massages for soldiers, herbal treatments, psychological support…).
And now… our office was COMPLETELY FLOODED by the apartment above. Actually, it wasn’t even occupied — a pipe burst in the empty unit above us. (It happened on the last day of the heating season — we’ve just gotten over the shock.)
Water dripped from above for two days, then cascaded down like a waterfall.
EVERYTHING IS DESTROYED!!!
……the ceiling completely collapsed and shattered,
……all walls crumbled, electrical wiring ruined, ceiling lights destroyed,
……all furniture gone (tables, chairs, cabinets, two sofas, three armchairs, a double bed for soldiers and their families to rest),
…..kitchen damaged (induction stove, multi-cooker, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, refrigerator); only the dishes survived: cups, forks, spoons, knives (except metal pots and pans),
…..washing machine destroyed, though the boiler and shower cabin survived as they weren’t on the floor,
……everything in the closets ruined (towels, bedding used during rehab activities),
…..the massage table — a gift from our German partners — survived thanks to its quality,
….the herbal steam barrel we bought together in 2014 also survived, though the power device for it was ruined,
…..desktop computer (monitor, keyboard, mouse, CPU), laptop from Germany — sadly didn’t survive the water((( the printer works though),
…..3 space heaters, 1 heating panel,
…..two small TVs with T2 devices — destroyed,
…..the large plasma screen used for trainings — ruined.
DESTROYED!!!!! — all our awards, certificates, diplomas, recognitions.
This is our tragedy…
It hurts. But we cannot stop.
We have to rebuild. Because this was the place where we helped our soldiers — to heal, to recover, to breathe, to talk. This place must live again.
We are looking for help: equipment, furniture, electrical supplies, a washing machine, small appliances — everything will be useful.
