Friends, on this Day of the Motorist and Road Service Workers, I am reaching out to all of you with an URGENT REQUEST! On Friday in Kyiv, early in the morning, my heart almost stopped — I don’t even know how I avoided a serious accident, but God protected me! The reason was that the automatic transmission literally fell apart, and the hoses started leaking. I’m not a mechanic, I’m a driver — I kept bothering the service station because I noticed “leakage,” heard something “humming and whining” the wrong way — but all I heard in response was, “wash the engine first, then we’ll see, don’t bother the car from driving…” So here I am now, and I didn’t manage to finish everything in Kyiv…
Thanks to my friend and volunteer Yurii Bilyk, the car “crawled” to the service station where they also repair their own vehicles. I’m thankful to the Kyiv police who let us pass without obstacles even where roads and bridges were closed so that we could reach the station faster. I’m grateful to Yurii’s family, who gave me shelter and brought me home the next day…
The result — the car that had been tirelessly carrying out various missions, from delivering supplies to the “zero line” and hospitals to evacuating wounded soldiers and civilians, is now in Kyiv, while on Tuesday we were supposed to be on the Pokrovsk front line!
Urgently needed financial help to purchase spare parts, approximately 90,000 UAH:
- $1,500 — automatic gearbox for T-5;
- hoses;
- electrical insulation;
- repair kit for the turbine;
- brake discs and pads,
and whatever else may come up…
The guys at the service station promised to do all the work for free and quickly, but the spare parts are needed!
