Space of Strength and Warmth: Unloading Training for the Team of NGO “Wives of Veterans”
The team of NGO “Wives of Veterans” participated in an unloading training session with psychologist and EMDR therapist Anna Kuruch. It was an opportunity not only to pause amid the daily routine but also to feel that we are not alone in our anxieties and fatigue. Within a supportive circle, a space opened where participants could share what was on their hearts and hear words that bring strength and hope.
Our main goal was to reduce anxiety levels, find ways to prevent professional and personal burnout, and learn how to better restore our resources. Anna shared practices that help calm the body and mind, find inner balance, and strengthen stress resilience. This experience served as an important reminder: to support others, we must first take care of ourselves.
As Anna Kuruch emphasized: “War takes a lot of our strength, which is why it is important to learn how to restore resources. Caring for yourself is not selfish—it is a necessity. Only when we are balanced can we support those around us.”
We realized how important it is to pause from time to time, be attentive to our feelings, and allow ourselves to rest. Such sessions provide not only knowledge and techniques but also warmth that stays in the heart. Together, we create an environment of trust, where everyone can find strength and inspiration to move forward. Because a team is not just about working together—it is also about recovering together.
The project is implemented with the support of the KSE Foundation – the charitable foundation of the Kyiv School of Economics.
